Art4Minds x Antiuniversity: Radical Wellbeing – A Conversation
“It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.” – Jiddu Krishnamurti
Online event: Thursday, 11th June 2020, 7-9pm on Zoom
Does the degree of someone’s mental health belong to the individual, or to the society to which the individual belongs?
As part of Antiuniversity 2020, Art4Minds and collaborators will be delving into this question and shining a light on the systems that surround our mental health epidemic.
We will be inviting a panel of guests from various creative backgrounds who have lived experience of the mental health system, and of the challenges faced in the art world when coping with mental distress.
We will be looking at the political nature of having a creative practice and building communities that seek to challenge the status quo of conventional mental health treatment.
We invite the audience to bring their own experiences and reflections, with the hope that we may sketch out a model of collective care that aims to support emotional wellbeing while promoting our right to autonomy.
Tickets are available here.
